Gran Fondo Conwy - Conwy, Wales
Sunday 26th April 2015
Wow! The 2014 Gran Fondo Conwy was an incredible event. With over 700 tough cyclists taking to the beautiful hidden secrets of Conwy and Denbighshire, it was one of the biggest new cycle events ever to be launched in Wales. And tough is defnitely the word to describe those who enjoyed the experience, this is quite possibly the toughest cycle event in Wales, and one of the toughest in the UK.
Do not be put off by the gnarly challenge though, this is all the more reason to get involved! The amazing roads, scenery and local support along the route will make this one of the most memorable cycling experiences that you have ever had, and not to mention the awesome 'STORM THE ORME' challenge. A unique time trial around the World famous Great Orme, on closed roads and run in reverse!
Organised by the highly acclaimed award winning event experts at Always Aim High, you will be looked after along every turn of the pedal, and the welcome you receive as you cross the finish line will be unforgetable.
And with three ride options available, plus a short family ride, there is something on offer for everyone, from the most experienced riders to sportive first timers. The beautiful route options are:
Gran Fondo Bach - is the shortest route at 42 miles
Gran Fondo Canol - 70 amazing miles to enjoy
Gran Fondo Mawr - 104 miles of pure pleasure and pain!
If you are not sure and need convincing that this is a must for your 2015 calendar then check out the Etape Eyri and Tour de Mon for a flavour of what's in store in Conwy come April 2015. You won't be disappointed!
All routes will start and finish at the beautfiul Conwy Quay next to the iconic and spectacular Conwy Castle. The quay will become a mecca to cyclists for one Sunday in April, with heaps to do and see for all of the family. This truly is a celebration of all things cycling, so come along and enjoy the occasion whether you are riding your bike or enjoying the view.
We are very proud to be working with our friends at Chain Reaction Cycles, and with all of the communities along the ride route. Thanks guys for helping us make this a Sportive to remember!
